The highly anticipated event, featuring a match-up between MCM Red and MCM White, was a celebration of the club’s legacy, blending some of the greatest players to ever don the MCM kit with current talent from today’s squad.
A sunny afternoon at the MCM home grounds set the perfect stage for an exciting clash, and the game did not disappoint. Fans were treated to a high-energy, end-to-end match that fittingly ended in a thrilling 4-4 draw.
The alumni team, MCM Red, boasting a lineup of MCM greats, showed they still had the skills and chemistry that made them club legends.
Among the current players on MCM Red, Mitch Apollon stood out with an impressive performance. Looking as fit as ever, Apollon seemed to defy time, making no wrong moves throughout the match. His sharpness and composure on the ball were evident, and he played a crucial role in maintaining the tempo and creating opportunities for his team.

Cahill’s defensive reliability and Caeiro’s creative flair ensured that MCM White remained competitive against MCM Red. Their contributions were key in both stifling the MCM Red’s attacking threats and generating offense for their own side.

Phil Worton had a solid performance at right back for MCM Red, and it was a pleasure for left back Braithwaite to partner with him once again. Their chemistry and understanding on the flanks were evident, providing both defensive stability and support for their team’s attacking efforts.
Another standout was Cozmin Borz, who played a steady and composed game as always. Known for his cool demeanor on the field, Borz brought his trademark calmness and reliability, anchoring the midfield and ensuring that MCM White maintained its shape and control throughout the match.
In a lighthearted touch, Shuggy stayed true to his pregame request by taking a 10-minute cameo in goal for MCM White before handing the gloves over to Big Al Vukcevic. Shuggy’s brief appearance between the posts was met with cheers, and Vukcevic’s solid performance ensured that the goalkeeping duties were well-handled for the remainder of the game.
Neil Stringer was exceptional for MCM Red, standing on his head in goal and making multiple great saves to keep his team in the game. His agility and shot-stopping ability were on full display, and his performance between the sticks was a highlight of the match.
Drew was another key figure, proving to be a constant threat down the right flank. His relentless runs and attacking play caused problems for MCM Red’s defense throughout the game.
Unfortunately, his stellar performance came to an abrupt end when he blew a tire, marking a dramatic close to an otherwise great match. On the other side, the dynamic duo of Burton and Wynne from MCM Red proved to be a major threat. Their combination play and movement caused havoc for MCM White’s back four, continuously probing and creating dangerous situations throughout the game.
