MCM extended their incredible winning streak to 13 straight matches with a commanding 5-1 victory over Castlebridge on Sunday.
The scoring started early as MCM wasted no time imposing their dominance. Fifteen minutes in, Nico’s sharp build-up play found Braden Culver, who calmly slotted home his first goal of the season. Just two minutes later, Braden was at it again, blasting in his second to double the lead. At the 22nd minute mark, Nico once more turned provider, this time setting up Jay to make it 3-0. With 13 minutes left in the half, Josh struck to push the advantage to 4-0, capping off a first half where MCM controlled nearly all of the possession.
At halftime, the message was clear: don’t let Castlebridge back into the match. Unfortunately, MCM did the opposite, as Castlebridge came out with energy and pulled one back early to make it 4-1. With a short bench on the day, fatigue began to creep in, but the group dug deep. It wasn’t until the 68th minute that MCM put the game to bed, when Nico rounded out his brilliant day by scoring the fifth goal.
From there, the rest of the match belonged to man of the match Sam Robson, who put on a fantastic display between the posts. Time and again, he shut the door to deny Castlebridge any chance of a comeback. Sam has embodied the true meaning of a team player all season, always answering the call whenever needed, and Sunday was no exception.
